The Queensland Games Foundation’s (QGF) Future Stars Grants provide funding for selected athletes in Commonwealth Games sports to assist them with the high cost of sporting equipment, competition,
travelling and training expenses.
Since 2014 the QGF have assisted 76 Queensland athletes achieve their goals at the Commonwealth Games (see Recipients). In 2026, the QGF grants program will continue to support our talented athletes to achieve their dreams at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Games will run from 23 July to 2 August, and many of Queensland’s top athletes will be targeting this prestigious event. For more information on the 2026 Games go to https://www.glasgow2026.com/
The QGF is passionate about supporting athletes’ preparation for the Commonwealth Games. They also believe athletes can inspire others in the community with their strong personal values, work ethic and resilience. Athletes demonstrate the benefits of fitness and sport and can raise awareness of the Commonwealth Games. For this reason, successful grant recipients are asked to complete two community engagement activities so they can pass on their powerful messages to a wider audience.
Grants for 2026 are $8,000 and applications are now open.
Athletes are encouraged to check their eligibility and apply by
completing the application form. Applications close on Friday 19
December 2025.
