Applications are now open for the 2025 Future Stars Grants!

The Queensland Games Foundation (QGF) ‘Future Stars’ Grants provide funding for selected athletes in Commonwealth Games sports. The aim is to assist athletes with the high cost of sporting equipment, competition, travelling and training expenses.

Since 2014 the QGF have assisted 54 Queensland athletes achieve their goals at the Commonwealth Games (see Recipients). After the success of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, even more talented young Queensland athletes have been inspired to represent Australia at future events. And with Glasgow, Scotland now confirmed to host the next Commonwealth Games in 2026, Australian athletes are now excited about the prospect of competing at this prestigious event. For more information see https://www.commonwealthsport.com

The QGF also believes athletes can inspire others in the community with their strong personal values, work ethic and resilience. Athletes also demonstrate the benefits of fitness and sport and raise awareness of the Commonwealth Games. Successful grant recipients are required to complete two community engagement activities so they can pass on their powerful messages. These engagements could include school presentations, volunteer/charity work or representing their sport at a community event.

Grant applications for 2025 are now open, and athletes are encouraged to check their eligibility and apply by completing the application form. Applications close on Friday 14 February, 2025.
