Winning my first Australian title! It’s a nice feeling knowing that you are the fastest in your country for your chosen event/sport.
Biggest challenge you have faced:
Having shoulder surgery in 2011 and having to come back and teach myself how to do the strokes again. Having to step away from a sport that you have put so much time in is never an easy thing.
What do you like most about your sport?
Making lifelong friends all over the world and travelling, also the fact that at the end of the day if things don’t go to plan the person I have to blame is myself.
Who/what inspires you to achieve your best in sport?
My coach and the younger swimmers in the sport, even when you haven’t achieved at the highest possible level yet (the Olympics) there is still kids that look at you like you’re the best person in the world and want nothing more than to watch you achieve.
